Jokes aside I don't get why people loathe it so much. It has "Anyone can play guitar" so the best album period. It's quite challenging to say what's my favourite album so if you don't mind Imma just tell about every album. There are 7 thousand languages in the world and you chose to speak facts. TBHC is probably my favorite album, simply ever, and it gets better every listen. A collection of strangers in a postmodern age all connected and yet separate and alone. I know that’s not quite right and there are a lot of holes in that, but it’s the vibe i like and imagine when jamming out to it. The album is the building, the physical hotel, and the songs are the guests in said hotel. Each episode is a new perspective from the guests of the hotel, occasionally running into each other. There’s a lot more but I envision an anthology series. There’s a marketing agent advertising the hotel and the taqueria on the roof. There’s a writer who wants to confess his love but not in a cheesy way, in a deep way, the way some science fiction does. There’s a washed up drunk lounge singer rambling at the piano. But there’s a man waiting by the windows looking for the lights on his lovers car. Some make multiple appearances, namely the lounge singer. To me it’s a collection of the stories of the guests at the hotel.
